Pit Senyor! Sinulog 2012

Fuente Osmena Circle, January 15, 2012. I was with some of my friends from work, most of them were from manila too and "Sinulog first-timers".

Sinulog is a dance ritual in honor of the miraculous image of the Santo Niño. The dance moves two steps forward and one step backward to the sound of the drums. This resembles the current (Sulog) of what was then known as Cebu's Pahina River. Thus, in Cebuano, they say it's Sinulog.  (source,http://www.Sinulog.ph)

We were there as early as 7am, just right after our shift from work. We took a quick breakfast and waited for the parade to start.  The parade started at about 10am. It was nice, we were just having trouble getting good shots of the ladies holding the Sto. Niño (I dont know what to call them) beacause there were too many professional photographers taking them. We left at about lunchtime. We went to Robinson's Cybergate Mall to grab a lunch. After eating the gang decided to go to Ayala Center to watch a movie, Sherlock Holmes baby! I was too tired though, I think I slept almost half of the movie. hihi ... Right after the movie we headed to Ayala terraces to watch the Sinulog Dance Party and watch the fireworks display. Georgina Wilson hosted the event. We had dinner at Siam, Thai Cuisine, and all we could ever think about after dinner is to go home and get that 16hr-sleep!

Here are some of the photos taken during the event:
